Navagraha Jain Temple, or Navagraha Teertha or Navagraha Tirtha is located near HubliKarnataka, in Varur. Navagraha Teertha is one of the most popular pilgrim spots in India for the Jain faith.The temple houses a Shri 1008 Bhagavan Parshvanatha 61 feet (18.6 m) tall monolithic idol and the other 8 Jain teerthankaras smaller statues.The statue is the Jain Lord Parshvanatha’s tallest statue in India, and weighs 185 tons. The statue is mounted on a 48-foot (14.6-m) high pedestal (total 109 feet)

Monolithic statue

Construction of Navagraha Teertha began in January 2005 and the carving of the monolithic statue and other statues alone took one year to complete.The research was supervised by Sri Gunadhar Nandi Maharaj, with the help of Sri Dharmasena Bhattaraka swamiji and hundreds of volunteers with philanthropist donations.

Navagraha Teertha, located in Varur, a village just 29 km from the town of Hubli-Dharwad, has become an important place on the state’s tourism map, attracting huge crowds from across the world.The Jain community founded Navagraha Teertha, which is spread over 45 acres adjacent to the Pune-Bangalore Highway, with the help of people from other religions.It was established in large part through Shri Gunadhar Nandi Maharaj’s efforts. It houses Shri Parshvanatha Teerthankar’s 61-ft, 185-ton monolithic statue in the Kayotsarga pose perched on a 48-ft pedestal which makes its total height 109 feet.

The graha doshas of nine planets are considered to be reconcilable through worshiping after nine tirthankars

Lord Parshwanth’s monolithic statue is not only very beautiful but also larger than in Shravanabelagola the statue of Gomateshwara or Lord Bahubali.The tirthankaras statues in Navagraha Teertha can be seen on the national highway up to 4 km (2.5 miles) north, when exiting the tapovan flyover exit near Varur on Pune-Bangalore Highway.

Accommodation:

A Yatri Nivas is being built here at a cost of Rs 5 Crore with the strong inflow of tourists.There are also plans to create a musical fountain and garden in Brindavan along the lines of the one.Lodging and boarding services are available here at no cost to guests.About 50 rooms were built to accommodate visitors, who are served daily breakfast and lunch as well.Bus services can be found from Hubli Old Bus Terminus to this location. Long distance buses also stop on request at Navagraha Teertha. There are also auto-rickshaws available from the city and charge Rs 150-200 for a ride.
